PUMPKIN CARVING

Monday October 17th

CJ's been begging to carve pumpkins for a couple of weeks now, so we decided to make it our FHE activity this week. We chose the least scary of the patterns we had and came out with a jack-o-lantern face for CJ's pumpkin, and an owl in a tree for Mattie's pumpkin.

Mattie and CJ, so proud of their pumpkins

Watching Daddy scrape the inside of CJ's pumpkin

It took some prodding, but we finally got CJ to reach his hand in the pumpkin and pull out some insides

Mattie didn't want to touch the pumpkin guts so she just stirred them in bowl instead

Since Mommy and Daddy ended up doing all the carving we thought we needed a picture with our creations (photo courtesy of CJ)

The kids with "their" pumpkins. We couldn't get any pics with CJ's eyes open (that's what happens when you take a pic with flash in the dark)

Happy Halloween!

Halloween can be such a fun family activity. Fun for the kids to dress up and fun to carve the pumpkins and fun to get candy. Grandma's wise advice: let CJ and Mattie eat the treats ALL AT ONCE. Then have them brush their teeth and it's over. (I don't believe in "forcing" them into a two week diet of rationed candy.) :)
