APRIL 2012

4/1 More pics taken by CJ and Mattie

4/1 Conference Weekend Mattie impressed us all when she not only recognized the prophet and knew his name, but actually watched him (for a bit :). And please excuse the mess. CJ had been sick a week before, and then Mommy and Mattie had the same stomach flu Conference weekend. It was no fun :(

 4/5 Surprise! Paige and Powell flew down to Utah to surprise Paige's mom for her birthday! These pics are right after Paige's mom walked into her kitchen to see Paige and Powell there (well, not right after. After Norine screamed in delight and made Powell cry, we had to calm him down a bit :). This is actually a week after Norine's birthday because when Paige found out that her brother's family was coming up from Arizona to take her nephew to the MTC the next week, Paige changed her flight so that she could see them too. It was the first time Powell got to meet his Uncle Chris and Aunt Jenny and his cousins Josh, Layton, and Anders (Alex wasn't there). It was a short, but great trip!

4/6 Playing with Grandma Forsgren. After she gave him a bath in her kitchen sink, we got him all dressed up like a stud

And here's a picture of Paige's nephew, Josh, er, Elder Forsgren, the new missionary (how did Paige go all the way to Utah to see him before he went into the MTC and not get a picture with him?!)

4/7 Checking out the new City Creek shopping center in downtown Salt Lake City. Too bad it had only been open for a few weeks because it was craziness there, making it kind of hard to enjoy. But we had fun hanging out!

 4/7 While Paige and Powell were in Utah, Bryce took the kids to his parents' house in Redmond. Then Tyler and Bryce took Mattie, CJ, and Zack to Chuck E. Cheese! Mattie finally got to ride the "white horse" that she'd been talking about since the last time they went to Chuck E. Cheese (can you tell Bryce was in charge? look at Mattie's hair :)

Easter

Paige flew home from Utah Easter morning and so Bryce, I mean, the Easter Bunny, left the kids' baskets out at Gramma and Papa's house

 4/14 We had a joint baby shower at our house for two of Paige's friends from the ward, Jessica Stowell and Kim Sharples. Paige was running around getting everything ready beforehand so she didn't get any pics of the yummy food, but you can see the cute pom poms above the serving table, and the garland did have cute onesies hanging with it, but those went home with the moms-to-be. Anyway, it had a great turn-out and was lots of fun (these mommas are two of Paige's favorite people :).  

4/15 When we came home from church, CJ changed out of his church clothes and into...a coat??

 4/22-4/23 Paige's visiting teacher, Kim Stone, dropped off a package with sunglasses for all the kids. Mattie - and Powell - sure had fun with them (it makes it even cuter that Powell is wearing Mattie's glasses :)

Some Monday Night Musings from April:

- You know you're son has been exposed to too much technology when he asks you to "pause the prayer" while he runs to the bathroom :)

- 4/11- I lost all my camcorder recordings and notes that were on my phone today! It was devastating!! I had videos from Disneyland, from surprising my Mom, from some of Powell's firsts. I also had notes written down of cute things my kids had said or done. I was so upset, I called Apple twice, in hopes that different people might be able to help me recover my stuff. It was to no avail. I cried for about 3 hours, basically mourning the loss of a portion of my life and my kids' lives. It was a sad, sad day :(

- 4/15- Today was the first time Mattie has told us she needed to go poop while she was wearing undies! Up to this point, she's only told us when she had no undies on or when we catch her right before. Otherwise, if she has undies on, she poops in them and MAYBE tells us afterward. Glory be!!
- 4/16- Mattie told us more times than not to go poop on the toilet! She still pooped in her pants twice, but she went on the toilet more times than that and we are feeling like she's finally there!! And by the way, I just had a total de ja vu while writing this. Weird!!

-4/30- Yesterday the kids saw a clip on America's Funniest Home Videos of a couple singing "BINGO" to their baby when he started crying. So now, every time Powell cries, CJ and Mattie start singing "B-I-N-G-O, B-I-N-G-O, B-I-N-G-O, and Bingo was his name-o" :)
