Saturday morning, we headed down to downtown Provo to watch Paige's brother cross the finish line of the Utah Valley marathon. Then that afternoon we headed up to Fort Union. It is tradition in an Indian/Hindu wedding for the bride's family to host a dinner. Again, many snags came up in the plan, but in the end, we were able to meet at Buca di Beppo for a private wedding luncheon on Saturday. That night, Paige did some last minute shopping and then Bryce took CJ (with his brother, Cameron, and Paige's brother, Nathan, and his boys, Jonathan and Abram) to see Kung Fu Panda 2. Then Sunday was the big day! We dropped the kids off at Bryce's grandparents' house in Taylorsville, and Cameron, Bryce's brother, came up from Provo to watch them for us during the wedding ceremony. What a great guy! After dropping the kids off, it only took us a few minutes to get to the Hindu temple and join the wedding party.

The beautiful bride, Courtney. Doesn't she look stunning?!

The ceremony was over an hour, which is actually significantly shorter than most, and was all in ancient Sanskrit. The Priest did a great job of informing us all who he was praying to and what was going on in the ceremony. He was even cracking jokes. At one point, Paige and Jenny were called up to hold a candle with Madhav's mother as she chanted a blessing for the couple. Then the sisters were to bless the couple as well by wafting the smoke from the candle over the heads of both Madhav and Courtney, which is what Paige is doing in the above pic.
We weren't sure if we could take pictures during the ceremony until it was almost over, so these are the only that we got of the couple (and if the pictures look smokey it's because they were. The couple was sitting in front of a small fire that was part of the ceremony). We wish we could have gotten a picture of Madhav's face when he first saw Courtney - it was priceless! Such love!
