- So I made my first official Craig's List purchase this week: a super cute chest of drawers for CJ! It's a great farmhouse red that I think will be a great accent color to his black bed and bluish/greenish bedspread. The only think hampering my great purchase is wondering whether I could have gotten it a little cheaper. It was listed for $70, and I offered $55, fully expecting the owner to barter. But she accepted my offer right away, which makes me wonder if I had offered lower, would she have taken that too? Oh well, still a great bargain, especially considering I was planning on buying a cheap one and painting it myself. Now I don't have to.
- Speaking of stuff for the house, I've been going kind of crazy this week. I'm spending money like we actually have some. I saw roman shades on clearance for 50% off at Bed Bath and Beyond, so I travelled all over trying to get as many as I could for our house. It's going to be about 75% cheaper than it would have been to have custom blinds ordered and installed, but it's still money we don't have that I'm spending. And then I got CJ's bedspread, and Mattie crib sheets, and curtains and a storage ottoman for Mattie's room. And we still need a mattress for CJ and high chair for Mattie. And those are just things we need right away. Don't even get me started on what I want!
- And speaking of money, it's been quite the stress for us lately. I worked really hard to get this job that I could do at home, so I wouldn't be sacrificing being with my kids and I wouldn't be burdening anyone to watch my kids, and I wouldn't be taking away time with Bryce too. But unfortunately, the job only pays once a month, after you've already worked a whole month. So we're lookin' at the end of August before I get my first pay check, which doesn't really help us out too much right now, when we need the money, because we have no income right now. So is life...
- And more about spending money, I got a cute swimsuit for the family reunion coming up. Let me tell you, shopping for a swimsuit on a Saturday afternoon, with the kids, all by myself, during a one day sale was a little crazy. I felt like I was the only one with kids who decided to go to Macy's - it was practically as quiet as a library! Which just made my kids kicking each other and throwing food, and screaming to get out of their stroller SO enjoyable.
Happy Monday!
