CJ's BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION #1

CJ turned 3 years old on Monday, July 26th. Bryce was taking the Bar exam the next day, so we planned on celebrating CJ's birthday on Thursday, after Bryce finished the exam. But we couldn't not do anything on his birthday, so CJ actually ended up celebrating several different times in several different ways! Lucky kid!

CJ woke up on his birthday to some of his favorite things: donuts and chocolate milk for breakfast and Spongebob!

After breakfast, CJ finally got to open the birthday package that his Grandma Forsgren had sent him a few days earlier (he'd been waiting so patiently)
This face is totally genuine! He kept making it as he was opening the gifts. We're just glad we got it on film.

Sweet Grandma Forsgren made sure to include a few things for Mattie too

Yea! Buzz Lightyear!

That afternoon, Mommy and Gramma took CJ and Mattie to Idylwood Park to go to the beach (on Lake Sammamish). We'd been talking about going to the beach for days and CJ was so excited - it was his first time. Let's just say, it took him a while to warm up to getting into the water. But Mattie loved it right away!

All CJ wanted to do when we first got to the beach was sit in his stroller - he refused to get out! Gramma convinced him to eat some lunch and I think that helped...

...because CJ finally warmed up...

...and ended up having a blast!

Mattie had so much fun that she was asleep before we even made it back to the car
