GRANDMA'S VISIT

Paige's Mom came to visit for Thanksgiving, and Paige made her stay for two weeks! She had never been to our new house, and Paige had lots of activities planned. Unfortunately, due to a crazy first week with a blizzard, Thanksgiving in Seattle, and a funeral, the second week was not enough time to squeeze everything in. And with the uncooperative weather anyway, we spent most days in, which was actually quite nice. Next time she comes we'll make sure it's the spring/early summer, so she can really see Wenatchee in all its glory!

11/29 Grandma Forsgren brought several little toys for the kids, including this ribbon for CJ because he's done so "awesome" with his potty-training. It's still hanging on his wall!

12/1 Growing up, Paige and her siblings always got advent calenders from their parents, and Paige's mom has continued the tradition with her grandkids. Mattie and CJ were so excited on the first day of December when Grandma showed them how to open their calenders and they saw that a chocolate was inside! Not a day goes by that they don't remind us about their calenders

Quality time with Grandma

Three generations...dancing to The Wiggles
(CJ was there dancing too, but this was the best picture we got of him)

12/4 Not the best pic, but the only one of just Paige and her mom. The Saturday before she left, they got to spend some quality one-on-one time together. They had lots of fun shopping and going to lunch.

12/4 Part of the reason Paige insisted that her mom stay for two weeks was for this: the Leavenworth Lighting Ceremony. Leavenworth is one of the top 5 Christmasy places to go (they were featured on the Travel Channel), and since Leavenworth is practically our backyard, we had to go!

When we saw that there was hardly any line to see Santa, we jumped right in. Bryce and Mattie were just fine...

...but CJ, though having talked about Santa all day, had to be forced into this picture :)

We LOVED having Paige's mom visit. And even though Paige was stressed with holiday stuff and exhausted and moody half the time, and even though we got stuck in a blizzard, and even though we ate mediocre Chinese food, and even though we didn't do hardly anything Paige had planned, and even though Paige had to get up before 5 AM and drive about 6 hours round trip to get her mom to the airport, it was all TOTALLY worth it and Paige cried as her mom left...we would do it again in a heartbeat!

We love you, Mom, and miss you so much!!
Please come back again soon!!!

I love you too. It was a wonderful visit just because I got to spend time with all of you.
